Merit Rankings

Merit rankings are the output of recurring evaluations. They translate benchmark evidence into an ordered view of which providers currently perform best for each workload category.

Ranking inputs

Rankings use benchmark scores, execution freshness, and workload-specific weighting. Categories that care more about accuracy than latency should rank providers differently from categories with strict response-time limits.

Update cadence

Rankings are refreshed on a regular schedule so routing policies have a current baseline. A predictable cadence also gives teams a stable reference point for change reviews and provider comparison.

Interpreting movement

A provider moving up or down in rank does not always imply a major regression. Teams should inspect the underlying workload deltas, data freshness, and confidence indicators before changing production policy.

Operational use

Routing policies can use merit rankings directly or as one input among several. In practice, most production policies combine rank with health, geography, and organisational constraints.
